I was tooling around this new website for a local radio station this morning and ran across something interesting, which is listed as the DJ's "stupid news story" for today.
Academy Award-nominated director MIKE FIGGIS doesn't have a way with words. Officials at Los Angeles International Airport recently held Figgis, who is British, for five hours after he told immigration officers who asked him why he was in the U.S., quote, "I'm here to shoot a pilot."
What the 59-year-old Figgis meant, of course, was that he was in L.A. to direct a TV show in the hopes it would get picked up to become a regular series, but authorities thought he was planning to fire a gun at an airline pilot. He was held in a cell until officials cleared up the matter.
So is this just another case of being rounded up for what we say, not what we do?
