Dear Soliders, I'll Honor Your Sacrifices When You Actually Defend Our Freedom

It is Memorial Day which means that we must endure ceaseless sermonizing on the "sacrifices of our soldiers" with accompanying platitudes such as "freedom is not free." We are supposed to honor you, our "brave men and women serving in the Armed Forces" who are "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here." You men and women are sacrificing your lives "to defend our freedoms," and we, the faithful citizens, should make our pilgrimage to the Holy Capital City to genuflect at one of the many shrines devoted to their heroism. However, I must say that I am baffled because I do not know which freedoms you brave men and women are defending.

Thanks to the Patriot Act, among other laws, we have no right to privacy or free speech. Thanks to Congress and various States, our right to keep and bear arms is frequently infringed upon. Thanks to the TSA, the FBI, the DEA, the ICE, and local police we have no right to be secure in persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures. Thanks to the war on drugs, our government can deprive us of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law. Thanks to the Supreme Court, private property be taken for public or private use without just compensation. Thanks to the monopoly on justice by the State, we cannot have speedy trials. Thanks to corrupt prosecutors, our bail and fines are excessive. And given that most laws punish noncrimes such as drug abuse, gun possession, prostitution, intellectual property, insider trading, speeding, redlight running, "illegal" u-turns, "illegal" left-turns, operating a business without a license, not sending your children to public schools, underage drinking, etc., etc., etc., punishments are necessarily cruel and unusual.

How can you expect me to honor your sacrifices in defense of our freedom when our own government threatens a family with a $4 million fine for selling bunnies? Or when our own police raid family homes, terrorize the residents and shoot their dogs? Or when our own prosecutors frame people to win convictions? Just whose freedoms are you defending because you sure as hell are not protecting mine.

If you really want me to honor your sacrifice, then actually begin defending my life, liberty, and property. I don't need defense from brown people in distant countries who want to attack the U.S. in retaliation for our Federal Government's evil foreign policy that you, dear soldiers, help enforce. I need defense from this dishonest, insane, and intolerable Federal Government and its vassal States that continue to devour everything that is true, honest, just, lovely, and of good report; all these things our Federal Government and its vassals ferociously attack while you do nothing to stop them. When you actually realize this is who the real enemy of liberty is, then you will truly defend our freedoms and your sacrifices will be worthy of honor.

As I read these comments, I was immediately reminded of a scene in the movie Menace to Society. In the opening scene O-Dog kills a Korean liquor store clerk because the store clerk "dissed" his mother. The murder is captured on store's security camera and O-Dog takes the video from the store before he and Kain flee. Later in the movie, O-Dog, Kain, and a few of their friends are watching the tape and gleefully commenting on O-Dog's kill.

When I first saw the movie in 1992, I thought that it was a sad reflection of the gangland mindset of black youth who glorify violence. Little did I know that this gangland mindset is the same as that of the police who have no qualms beating or killing someone who they perceived has "dissed" them or is a threat. Simply compare the commentary by the characters in the movie to the commentary by the police on the blog. The similarities are disturbing, although not surprising. The police are the world's largest street gang and act like it. For police a "diss" or "threat" can be anything from an actual insult to standing up for your rights to simply not obeying quickly enough.

I've said this many times on this blog and I will keep hammering this truth into American heads until they get it nailed fast there, never to come loose: the police are and will always be a menace to society.

 

Supposedly the Patriot Act Is Even Worse than Reported. Next on News at 11, Gasoline Is Flammable.

According to Sen Ron Wyden (D-Oregon), there is much in the Patriot Act that our government will not reveal to the public:

You may think you understand how the Patriot Act allows the government to spy on its citizens. Sen. Ron Wyden (D-Oregon) says it’s worse than you’ve heard.

Congress is set to reauthorize three controversial provisions of the surveillance law as early as Thursday. But Wyden says that what Congress will renew is a mere fig leaf for a far broader legal interpretation of the Patriot Act that the government keeps to itself — entirely in secret. Worse, there are hints that the government uses this secret interpretation to gather what one Patriot-watcher calls a “dragnet” for massive amounts of information on private citizens; the government portrays its data-collection efforts much differently.

“We’re getting to a gap between what the public thinks the law says and what the American government secretly thinks the law says,” Wyden tells Danger Room in an interview in his Senate office. “When you’ve got that kind of a gap, you’re going to have a problem on your hands.”

What exactly does Wyden mean by that? As a member of the intelligence committee, he laments that he can’t precisely explain without disclosing classified information. But one component of the Patriot Act in particular gives him immense pause: the so-called “business-records provision,” which empowers the FBI to get businesses, medical offices, banks and other organizations to turn over any “tangible things” it deems relevant to a security investigation.

“It is fair to say that the business-records provision is a part of the Patriot Act that I am extremely interested in reforming,” Wyden says. “I know a fair amount about how it’s interpreted, and I am going to keep pushing, as I have, to get more information about how the Patriot Act is being interpreted declassified. I think the public has a right to public debate about it.”

That’s why Wyden and his colleague Sen. Mark Udall offered an amendment on Tuesday to the Patriot Act reauthorization.

The amendment, first reported by Marcy Wheeler, blasts the administration for “secretly reinterpret[ing] public laws and statutes.” It would compel the Attorney General to “publicly disclose the United States Government’s official interpretation of the USA Patriot Act.” And, intriguingly, it refers to “intelligence-collection authorities” embedded in the Patriot Act that the administration briefed the Senate about in February.

Wow, he plans to add another amendment to the Patriot Act compel the Attorney General “publicly disclose the United States Government’s official interpretation of the USA Patriot Act.” Surely a government that does not obey its own Constitution (e.g. The Patriot Act) will crumble under the mighty weight of this amendment to this unconstitutional law! Aren't we fortunate to have such brave representatives as Wyden and Udall in office?

I think the only reason our Federal Government even goes through the motions of lawmaking is because the American people have not yet fully accepted the truth of the fascist police state that we live in. The government still must at least appear to be making laws that authorize certain actions or restrain its behavior so that the people still believe in its legitimacy. Of course, the government can and does ignore said laws. But Americans are not yet ready for a true dictator who simply issues commands at his pleasure. But do not worry. Our government, especially our public school system and our police, are working hard to prepare the American public for that day.

Prodigy of Mobb Deep, recently released from prison for the non-crime of gun possession, speaks about Ron Paul and the U.S. Federal Government. I agree with a great deal of what he says, particually his contention that without divine intervention the U.S. Government will proceed to destroy the liberties and lives of everyone in this country and the world. While it's possible that the American people could collectively wake up to their imprisonment and oppression by the U.S. Federal Government and its vassals, I see this as unlikely, at least in my lifetime. Most Americans have no interest in taking the red pill; they enjoy the myth that the State exists to protect them and the U.S. Government is god-on-earth.

Florida School Bans Hand-Holding

Students at Blanche Ely High School in Pompano Beach, FL have been warned. No more hand-holding on school grounds! (That's sure to nip rainbow parties in the bud.)

One parent says her daughter is being discriminated against because she was told to stop holding hands with another girl.

"Her and her friend was holding hands and that the principal approached them from behind and removed their hands from being touched," said the mother of one of the teens. She does not want to be identified.

Jesus. No wonder this lady doesn't want to be identified. Is this what passes for the English language nowadays? Is it wrong that I feel discriminated against when I'm robbed to pay for "schools" that pump out people like this?

Why I Respect Racist Progressives of the 1900s More Than Bleeding-Heart Liberals of the 2000s

Because racist progressives of the 1900s understood economics. Jonah Goldberg includes a chapter on eugenics and progressives in his book Liberal Fascism. A relevant excerpt:

Webb understood that raising the minimum wage would necessarily reduce the demand for lower skilled workers. However, Webb believed that this was a good thing because in his mind the lower skilled workers were the "physical and moral weaklings and degenerates".

Another Athlete Learns the Cost of Blashpemy against the American Idol

Last year I wrote a post about former Denver Nuggets basketball player Mahmoud Abdul-Rauf. Abdual-Rauf's NBA career was wrecked after he chose not to stand for the national anthem because, in his words, "the flag represents tyranny and oppression". In response to Abdul-Rauf's treatment I wrote:

One thing to realize in the US is that one can be a Democrat or Republican or a liberal or conservative. One can even be an independent. One can discuss politics and even have strong views as to how the State’s power should be used. But one should never under any circumstances question the legitimacy of the State by refusing to honor its flag or sing its hymns or pointing out its tyranny. Such blasphemy is unacceptable and the zealots who worship America can use their collective power to destroy you. They can ostracize you and refuse to engage in trade with you. You will be a pariah and you could lose everything you have worked for because you refuse to bow down and worship this Golden Calf. The NBA is a private organization, but its revenue comes from the average citizen people who are the State’s disciples. Even if the NBA commissioner agreed with everything Abdul-Rauf said, the commissioner would still have to worry about boycotts to his product because the State’s disciples can simply refuse to stop coming to games.

Another athlete is now learning the cost of blasphemy. On Sunday Pittsburgh Steelers running back Rashard Mendenhall made a crucial mistake. After Osama bin Laden's assassination, he made two tweets that could damage his career. His first tweet:

What kind of person celebrates death? It's amazing how people can hate a man they never even heard speak. We've only heard one side...

His second tweet:

We'll never really know what happened. I have a hard time believing a plane could take down a skyscraper demolition style.

His timing to publicly express his lack of faith in the god-State of the U.S. Government could not have been worse. Mendenhall would have offended far fewer Americans had he urinated on a crucifix during Easter, burned a copy of the Torah during Passover, and called the prophet Mohammed a child molester during Ramadan. Osama bin Laden's assassination was an impromptu national holiday that aroused the sleeping nationalism of the American people. To question the U.S. Government's action of ridding the world of "the most evil person ever" according to some is utter heresy.

Our Government Really Thinks the American People Are Gullible Fools

The White House on Thursday sought to sidestep controversy over the exact circumstances of the raid to kill Osama bin Laden, highlighting instead a "flawlessly" executed and dangerous mission.

Officials have declined to give any further details of the raid against the Al-Qaeda leader, after being forced to amend earlier accounts of what exactly happened when Navy SEALS stole deep into Pakistan in a covert action on Sunday.

White House spokesman Jay Carney told reporters on Air Force One that the operation was still being evaluated, but said that after transparently offering details of what happened, Washington was no longer offering public accounts.

"The broader point here is that a group of extraordinary US personnel flew into a foreign country in the dead of night and ... flawlessly executed a mission and achieved a goal that had eluded the United States of America since 9/11, almost 10 years," he said.

"We are still in the process of gathering all the facts of that operation," Carney said.

Well, that's certain to keep the conspiracy theorists at bay. Nothing like government silence after changing several facts over the course of four days to end all skepticism.

And today we learn that our government found evidence that Al-Qaeda was planning another terrorist attack, this time against trains:

Al Qaeda was plotting an attack on U.S. trains on the upcoming anniversary of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, according to some of the first information gleaned from Usama bin Laden's compound, a U.S. official confirmed to Fox News.

But the planning was more aspirational than concrete, counterterrorism officials say, adding that they have no recent intelligence pointing to an active plot for such an attack.

As of February 2010, the terror organization was considering plans to attack the U.S. on the 10th anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. One idea was to tamper with an unspecified U.S. rail track so that a train would fall off the track at a valley or a bridge, according to a joint FBI and Homeland Security bulletin sent to law enforcement officials around the country Thursday. The Al Qaeda planners noted that if they attacked a train by tilting it, the plan would only succeed once because the tilting would be spotted the next time....

"While it is clear that there was some level of planning for this type of operation in February 2010, we have no recent information to indicate an active ongoing plot to target transportation and no information on possible locations or specific targets," the warning Thursday said.

The FBI and Homeland Security told local officials to be on the lookout for clips or spikes missing from train tracks, packages left on or near the tracks and other indications that a train could be vulnerable.

Homeland Security spokesman Matt Chandler said, "This alleged al-Qaeda plotting is based on initial reporting, which is often misleading or inaccurate and subject to change." He said the government has no plans to issue an official terror alert because of it.

So our government changes the facts of this story on a daily basis and suddenly they "discover" a terrorist plot to attack the railroad system on the anniversary of 9/11. No body, no photos, no video, no more questions, but oh, yeah, Al-Qaeda was planning an attack since February 2010. We have hundreds DVDs, computer disks, and documents that say so and that's just the tip of the iceberg. Our experts are on it.

Do you think that there are bets among Obama's staff to see just how much bullshit they can sell to the American people before the vast majority become suspicious?

 

 

If You Want to Send Conspiracy Theorists into a Frenzy...

just behave as the Obama administration has over the past few weeks. First there was the birther controversy that started two years ago. Had Obama simply released his birth certificate when the controversy began, he probably could have defused it early on. Instead he waits two years until possible presidential candidate Donald Trump calls him out for it and then releases it. Not surprisingly, many birthers think that the document is a fake. But ignoring this type of controversy for two years allows people who were on the fence to ask "Well, why is he hiding his birth certificate? Just show to everyone and quiet these opponents."

Now there is the Osama bin Laden assassination. I don't think I have ever seen a story change so frequently in such a short period of time. On Sunday, I heard a report that Osama bin Laden had been assassinated. He was in a gunfight with Navy SEALs and used his wife as as shield. There was video of the attack as well as photographs of bin Laden's body. When news reached the U.S., Americans cheered like many in the Middle East did after the 9/11 attacks.

Then bin Laden's was buried at sea to respect Islamic law the next day. What? Is this a joke? Our government claims that it killed bin Laden and then gets rid of the body before any independent entity can verify its claim? And the reason the government did so was to respect Islamic law? The U.S. Government does not respect its own laws nor does it respect the lives of Muslims, but all of a sudden the U.S. Government respects Islamic law regarding the burial of a dead Muslim terrorist suspect while said government routinely kills innocent Muslims in violation of Islamic law. Or any law for that matter. (Are we in the Twilight Zone?) This alone is enough to fire up conspiracy theorists. But why stop there? Next, I learned that bin Laden did not use his wife as a shield and he was unarmed. So why not take bin Laden alive and put him on trial?

But it gets better. After two days of deliberating, the Obama administration has decided not to release the photo of bin Laden's body to the public. Apparently Obama is worried that releasing the photo will incite Muslim terrorists to attack the U.S. (So I'm supposed to believe that releasing a photo of a dead Muslim terrorist will incite more Muslim terrorists to attack the U.S., but bombing innocent Muslim men, women, and children as part of U.S. foreign policy has no repercussions. Our government really does think the American people are complete morons. And if you have seen the celebrations over the past couple of days, I think they have a point. But I digress.) Of course, the conspiracy theorists will argue that there was no photo. But there is video, yes? Well, maybe not.

But wait, there's more! Today I learned that bin Laden might have been killed after he was arrested. So from what I have read, we have started with a story Sunday night about a furious gunfight between Navy SEALs and bin Laden who used his wife as a shield while trying to kill U.S. forces all caught on videotape to an unarmed man being assassinated after he was arrested and whose body was buried in the sea a day later in observance of Islamic. Now the story on Wednesday (only three days later) is that an unarmed bin Laden was placed under arrest and then shot twice in the head. His wife was shot but not killed. His body was buried at sea, but the photos will not be released and there is question as to whether there is video of the attack. I'm sure I am missing some details, but I just can't cover this many lies this quickly.

The Obama administration's actions regarding Obama's birth certificate and the Osama bin Laden assassination have given conspiracy theorists more fodder than the 9/11 attacks, the JFK assassination, and the moon landing combined. And if Obama wins re-election due as result of bin Laden's assassination, then [Conspiracy Fodder (birthers, OBL)] = [Conspiracy Fodder (9/11, JFK, Moon)]².

 

Call Me "Brutadamus"

Because I can predict the future. Case in point: In November 2010, I pointed out that the pornoscanners and the enhanced patdowns would attract sexually depraved people (men in particular) to seek employment at the TSA. In my concluding paragraph I wrote:

So if I were a man who enjoyed fondling other men in public or I were a man who enjoyed watching women feel up other women in public or if I were a voyeur who liked looking at naked pictures or women and/or men in public or if were into sexual humilation and sadism, I would immediately apply for a job at the TSA. Nothing beats a job that matches perfectly with one's hobbies. (Emphasis added)

Today at the Stop TSA Scanners blog, I found this story from a former TSA agent:

When I first started at the TSA I was assigned a “shadow.” Basically a Shadow is another officer that watches over the new recruits to assure they are doing things correctly. The officer assigned to me was a nice enough guy, however he had one little fetish that I found a little …off putting. He would stand at the front of the TSA checkpoint and look through the crowd. He would find a girl that looked cute or maybe was wearing little clothing, then select them for additional screening. Now, LAX like most airports does not allow male officers to patdown female passengers. So my Shadow would get a female officer and tell her to pat the passenger he selected down while he watched. Sometimes overseeing the patdown and making further suggestions. Then he wound go find another girl to harass. (Emphasis added)
