It probably would've been nice if I actually posted this recipe before the Super Bowl, but in all honesty I forgot that my buddy sent it to me. It's his fiancee's mother's recipe, and she's been making it for years. She made it most recently with T-Rev's Stiff Willi Chili Spice Mix and said it was a hit. Enjoy! (And thanks to Rico for sending.)
Here it is straight from the email:
Chili-Cheese Dip (from the original crock pot recipe book)
(This is a single recipe but I usually double the recipe for parties.)
1 pound lean ground beef
1 pound processed American cheese, cut in small pieces (I use Velveeta)
1/2 teaspoon chili powder (however, I used T-Rev's Stiff Willi Chili Spice Mix yesterday)
1 can (8 to 10 ounces) green chilies and tomatoes (not drained) (I use Rotel brand found in canned tomato section at Wegmans)
2 to 3 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
NOTE: Add more american or colby cheese if it's too thin
Brown ground beef well and drain off excess grease. Put ground beef and all remaining incredients in CROCK-POT. Stir well. Cover and cook on High 1 hour (usually takes a bit longer to thicken up), stirring until cheese is fully melted. Serve immediately or turn to Low for serving up to 6 hours later. Serve with tortilla or corn chips.
